Krista D. Walker represents clients in criminal defense and family law matters, including DUI defense, assault and battery charges, theft and property crimes, traffic violations, divorce, child custody disputes, child support matters, and domestic violence-related cases. She has extensive courtroom and evidentiary hearing experience, having conducted trials and contested hearings on a regular basis throughout her time as an attorney .

Prior to entering private practice, Krista served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Hawai’i, where she handled a wide range of criminal matters from misdemeanor offenses to more serious felony-related cases. Her background as a prosecutor provides her with insight into how criminal cases are evaluated, prepared, and litigated by the State. She has substantial experience reviewing discovery, preparing witnesses, qualifying expert testimony, and litigating complex DUI matters involving technical and evidentiary issues.

Krista received her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2021. During law school, she received numerous awards and recognitions, including an Academic Excellence Award in Evidence Advocacy, two Distinguished Advocate Awards, First Place in the American Association for Justice Trial Competition, and induction into the Pro Bono Honors Society. She completed internships with both the San Diego Public Defender’s Office and Free to Thrive, an organization assisting survivors of human trafficking with criminal record expungement and advocacy efforts.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Krista spent more than 20 years working in the mental health, substance abuse, and social work fields. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from MacMurray College and her Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University. Throughout her career, she has worked in correctional facilities, treatment centers, juvenile diversion programs, and child welfare services. She also served in the United States Army Reserves through 2017.

Krista is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Hawai’i and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Alabama. Her professional background provides her with a unique perspective when working with individuals and families experiencing difficult legal situations involving trauma, addiction, family conflict, and major life transitions.

Krista was admitted to the Hawai’i State Bar in 2022 and the Illinois Bar in 2025. She is a member of the DuPage County, Cook County, Hawai’i State, and West Hawai’i Bar Associations. She is also a certified Domestic Violence Counselor.

Krista believes that communication, preparation, and trust are essential to effective legal representation. She is passionate about protecting the rights of her clients, guiding them through difficult situations, and helping them pursue the best possible outcome under the circumstances.
